Durand-Ruel, May 25-June 25 1888. Interestingly, Monet viewed this exhibit and commented in a letter to Berthe Morisot that he thought her pictures in the exhibit were 'good'. It was a joint exhibit with Sisley, Renoir and Pissarro. Morisot sent three oils one pastel and one water color to the exhibit.

  1. The strecher is autographed by Julie Manet stating the following:

'Je revin avec plasir sur cette toile que j'ai vu peinte par ma mere, Berthe Morisot en ete 1887 a Saint Sypmhorien en face de Tours' and signed Julie Manet Rouart

The is cataloged as being painted in 1892. This is probably wrong. Julie Manet states it was 1887 and the exhibit in 1888 would appear to confirm that.
